7 tips for better looking skin!


I think we can agree that we all want better looking skin.  My skin has been going through a whole lot lately but doing this post has inspired me to do better and I hope it does the same for you.

1. Drink Water
I know you might be thinking everyone says drink water. Well it is true! I hate to sound like that person who keeps trying to force you to drink water.
Let me be very honest. I go through phases where I sometimes drink enough water and sometimes too little. I understand! When you are thinking of not drinking water, think about how great your skin will look and how essential it is. Drink up people! Thank me later. I am literally about to get me a glass of water right now. If you find drinking water very boring, try adding some lemons, cucumbers or strawberries.

2. Sleep properly!!!

I cannot overemphasize this.  I tend to work long hours which means less sleep but I try to squeeze in at least 5/6 hours of sleep somewhere in my schedule (still not good enough though). When I take holidays, I try to sleep as much as possible.

It actually really works. I took time off work to relax and just a day of resting properly changed my overall skin appearance. Whoever said beauty sleep is needed was definitely not kidding. It was like my skin became clear all of a sudden.

3. Buy skincare products that are suitable for your skin type

If you have oily skin, don’t waste money buying products specifically targeted at people with dry skin. It is like using paracetamol for someone else’s headache. It makes no sense. Use products that specifically target your skin concerns.

4. Don’t sleep with makeup on

I found it so funny typing this especially because I slept off with makeup recently. I had one of those nights where I was out late and went straight to bed totally forgetting I was wearing makeup.  Anyway do better than I did. Let’s hope my face doesn’t pay for my indiscretion.

I literally had my clay mask on all day! Fix it Jesus.

5. Give it time

Your skin didn’t get ruined overnight. It takes time to repair itself. I personally have been so busy with many projects lately that I hardly had time for my skin and my skin definitely paid for it. Anyway, I am learning to give it time to repair, so do the same;)

6. Skincare routine

Develop a skincare routine for daytime and night-time. I know night-time skincare can be so inconvenient after a long day but it is so important to get rid of all the environmental damage after a long day. A night skin care routine will help improve skin tone, reduce blemishes and hydrate your skin.

7. Pray

It definitely won’t hurt your skin to say a little prayer for your skin. Trust me it works. I have prayed for things people think is too little to pray for but then I get results. Besides even if you don’t believe in God, what harm will it do to pray?! Just saying.
