It’s been a while since I published a lifestyle post! I can’t believe how long it has been, I got so busy lately that I haven’t been out to a restaurant in a while!!
I was taking pictures for my blog around Canning Town and I decided to try this restaurant. It came highly recommended by a friend and I knew I just had to try it. As soon as I got to the entrance and looked in, I was impressed by what I saw. The first thing I noticed was the way the tables were arranged, which I thought looked really well presented. It was also cool in the restaurant, which definitely made me feel a whole lot better considering it was such a hot and sunny day!
The waitresses were really nice! They were very helpful in taking care of our needs and making sure we were comfortable. Shortly after the food arrived, someone came over to our table to ask if we liked the food.
I ordered jollof rice & beef because I feel like if you can make really good jollof rice then chances are, everything else would be nice as well. I’ll be honest, the jollof rice was nice. It was refreshing to know that it didn’t taste like the jollof rice I have had at other restaurants. It had a nice, well-seasoned, home-feel to it! The beef was nice and soft, I personally like my beef a bit more cruncy. That’s a personal preference though. In the end, it really did not matter because the jollof rice was really yum!
Some of you know I love a good cocktail. At first, I wasn’t sure what to order so i just ordered their pineapple juice. We were offered the signature cocktail, ‘banana island’. I was first concerned as I didn’t know what to expect, the idea of having banana tasting cocktail didn’t sound very exciting to me! I was pleasantly surprised because it was amazing…
If you are ever in London and are craving african food, you should check them out! They actually also have some grill options which I can’t wait to try. It is also a nice place to just have a couple of drinks with your friends and chill!
Have you ever been to this hot spot? What was your experience in terms of their staff? Did you love the food?
